播音人原拟名是播音皇子，这个原名有部份观众仍会采用，可能当年无线电视宣传时会采用这名字，所以也为人认识。固名思义，这剧是说当年从事播音事业的人的工作生活为主，是由香港剧集里传统伦理及爱情的故事组成。 剧中男主角韦业昌（周润发饰）自小与母亲彩姐（南红饰）相依为命，後来获海外进修法律，学成归来。彩姐早前租其家予多位在电台工作的街坊，包括装作风流的太子佳（罗浩楷饰），常扮演孩子声的阿红（庄文清饰）、风骚的阿娟（刘雅丽饰）等，大家相处和谐，各人亦有不同个性…… 与昌同屋自小成长的吕熙（苗侨伟饰）有次幸获电台聘约，昌与他一起往电台时与电台女播音员欧若芷（赵雅芝饰）相识，二人产生好感…… 这套剧集只要是分电台内外的，电台里有包括两家电台的节目竞争，身为节目总监的陆小姐（程可为饰），暗恋欧若芷的播音王子萧文骏（萧亮饰），刻薄不可一世的广播剧先辈马...。Greece, in the 1920's, is occupied by the Turks. The country is in turmoil with entire villages uprooted. The site of the movie is a Greek village that conducts a passion play each year. The leading citizens of the town, under the auspices of the Patriarch, choose those that will play the parts in the Passion. A stuttering shepherd is chosen to play Jesus. The town butcher (who wanted to be Jesus) is chosen as Judas. The town prostitute is chosen as Mary Magdalene. The rest of the disciples are also chosen. As the movie unfolds, the Passion Play becomes a reality. A group of villagers, uprooted by the war and impoverished, arrive at the village led by their priest. The wealthier citizens of the town want nothing with these people and manipulate a massacre. In the context of the 1920's each of the characters plays out their biblical role in actuality.。
